1. Donsol, Philippines In a small town in southern Luzon off the coast in places where the Whale shark - the biggest fish in the sea come to feed. From here you can go out for the day with the boat and swim with the sharks. When they only eat plankton they swim close to the surface and swam slowly enough so you can compete with them. You are only allowed to snorkel with the sharks, but that's just an incredible experience so close to a shark of this size.
2. Bukit Lawang, Sumatra, Indonesia in the North Sumatran city of miles there is a forest inhabited by many of the orangutans, who treks here are great with some of the best guides I've ever used. After only 4 hours on the way I see 8 orangutans and that included a 6-month-old baby.
3. Angkor Wat, Cambodia Angkor site in Cambodia has become a must for anyone traveling to Southeast Asia. Angkor Way is the largest temple in the world and see the sunrise from the it is just a view you can not see anywhere else in the world. You can spend so much time here looking and large number of temples here and never feel bored.
4. Full moon party, Koh Pan gan, Thailand's legendary full moon party has been going on for years started with just a few people now with a minimum of 10,000 people per month. This party is just a rite of passage for anyone who comes to Thailand to make the trip. You meet people and dance until the morning.
5. Motorcycle tour round Vietnam Riding your own bike (or if you can not you can hire a driver) round Vietnam going to villages and towns where no tourists go is one of the highlights of this trip. Is Dalat travel in a beautiful way to see a truly spectacular that you can only find in Vietnam.
6. Palawan, the Philippines Philippine island of the South West is a hidden gem of the whole of Southeast Asia. At some point you will not find more than 50 backpackers on the island and it's a large island. The locals are friendly I have ever met and I think the beaches are the best in the world. Picture a cross between the islands around Krabi, Thailand and mix it with Ha Long bay, Vietnam, and this makes the shoreline town of El Nido. There are several diving and snorkeling are the best thing to do in many coral reef off the coast of many white sand or swim in the lagoon with a small shark or relax and soak up the sun. The island also has one of the longest underground river in the world.
7. Ha Long Bay, Vietnam is a must for anyone in the area as a UNESCO heritage site and for good reason. bay has close to 2000 limestone islands with caves to explore and a few lagoons to go kayaking in. When you go to the bay you go out on a traditional junk ship where you will get your own room and breakfast and dinner are served.
8. Vang Vieng, Laos is a great party town. You get a tractor in a tube and float the river and stopped at the bar on the route and get a free shot of lao lao whiskey and then drink buckets of lao lao whiskey and coke over until 18:00 then when you think you have enough you go to an island just bars (smile is the best) to middnight when the curfew kicks in. Try the rope swings at each bar. The first bar has the largest bar any possible claims.
9. Gili Islands, Indonesia The Gilis consists of three islands, Gili Trawangan the biggest of all. When I say big it would take you ten minutes walk along the main beach. No cars on the islands is only by horse and cart to get around you. You come here to relax on the beach and dive with sharks and manta rays in some of the best sites on Earth.
10. Hoi An, Vietnam Hoi An is located on the beach and has a coastline is quite good. It is also the place to come for tailor-made clothes. There are too many tailors to mention here the main road pretty much consisting of them. You can get literally anything made here all you need to do is take a photo of the item you want and they'll make it for you. The suit of good quality will cost about $ 50 - $ 100.
